Viewsonic Viewpad 10Pro Tablet

Written by Mark

The Viewsonic Viewpad 10Pro tablet carries both the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system as well as the
Windows 7 Home Premium edition. The tablet is the first to use Intel Oaks Trail 1 Ghz processor which
helps it hold better under the pressure as it has a dual booting system. It also holds 2 GB of RAM with a
32GB SSD.

Display and Design

The display is 10.1 inch wide with an LED blacklit multi-touch capacitive display with 1024×600 pixel
resolution. It has a black casing with a grill on the top and bottom in the back and the front holds only
the display with a home button on the right hand side if you hold it in landscape view. The tablet also
weighs about 800 grams or 1.76 pounds and is around 15mm thick which doesn’t compare to the iPad at
all.

Performance

The neat thing about the Viewpad 10Pro is that you can easily switch between operating systems in a
matter of seconds on the display without the reboot. It’s a big step up from the Viewpad 10 where,
aside from being equipped with the old Android 1.6 and all the other problems it was having, you had to
reboot and wait just to change the OS. One major problem with the old Viewpad was that Windows 7
wasn’t really built for touchscreen technology. So you had to find a mouse and keyboard just so you can
use the OS properly. Will this Viewpad 10Pro have that same issue? We think, more than likely. You
might as well get netbook!

Extra Features

The Viewpad 10Pro does come with a 1.3MP camera in the front along with room for an HDMI and
USB ports. The memory is expandable up to 32GB by the 4 in 1 memory card reader. There are two
SKU’s in which you can boot up with Windows 7 only or you can dual-boot with Windows 7 and Android
Froyo. The tablet is capped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G all a neat little package. Also, in the future
the Viewpad 10Pro will be upgraded to the new Honeycomb OS to replace the Android 2.2 Froyo, as
Honeycomb is made for tablet PC’s. The battery life when using Windows 7 should last up to 6 to 7
hours whereas it will last longer when using Android

Yet with all these neat little features and added gizmos, will the Viewsonic Viewpad 10Pro measure up
with the upcoming iPad 2? Well when both tablets release, we shall see who has the last laugh!
