Sony VAIO Laptops – Review

Sony VAIO was started by Sony Corporation to sell personal computers in Japan and initially VAIO was an acronym for ‘Video Audio Integrated Operation’, but in 1998 the Sony VAIO brand was launched to sell computers and peripherals to the global markets. In 2008 Sony marked VAIO’s 10th birthday anniversary by changing the definition for VAIO to ‘Visual Audio Intelligence Organizer’.

Sony VAIO today is a presigious laptop brand for the many owners of the eye catching notebooks, desktop replatement laptops, mini-notebooks, desktops and other stylish gadgetry. It is interesting to see how the influence of companies such as Sony coming from a different business specialty has influenced  the world of computing. We can see what Sony’s has done in the mobile phone industry by creating a name for multimedia ‘Walkman Phones’ utilising Sony’s core strength and the long term trust in its brand for providing edgy consumer electronics.

We are confident to say that Sony has taken the same route to capture the audiences by introducing similar advanced multimedia and mobility features to win over the rival brands. You will see many loyal Sony customers who grew up with the brand now have a natural association and inclination to opt for a Sony laptop rather over other brands which only ever stood for nothing but Computing such as HP and Dell.

Amongst the noteworthy features introduced by Sony are the XBRITE display which provides 1.5 times better display compared to a standard laptop display screen, or Sony was the first laptop brand to introduce HDMI capable displays and Blue-ray disc drives. These were the areas where Sony has an edge over other brands for being a leader in consumer electronics since over half a century.

Today Sony is rapidly advancing its range of laptops with many interesting and feature rich models and we think Sony will continue to have this multimedia edge  and it would be very difficult for other laptop brands to combat Sony VAIO’s market share in the years to come.
