Written by Lee
Samsung N150 Netbook has targeted the frequent travelers and outdoor workers with its exceptional battery life and generous connectivity features. From smooth processing to light entertainment, Samsung N150 can be a great choice for most of your business as well as social needs. Being a compact and lightweight netbook, Samsung N150 optimises mobility and productivity besides giving customers the maximum bang for their bucks.
Intel Atom Processor
Samsung N150 netbook has been furnished with the most imperative devices including the latest generation of Intel Atom processor, Atom N450 CPU. Designed on 45nm platform and running at a speed of 1.66 GHz, the Atom N450 is a single core processor with Hyper Threading technology. Intel Atom and Microsoft Windows 7 are combined to provide flexible and smart solutions that can manage majority of the basic applications. Built-on to the primary processor is an integrated graphics card with memory control. This integrated controller eliminates the need for separate power hungry chips for better battery backup usage. Another impressive aspect is that the total power consumption has been downed by 40% with this new technology which is a milestone in energy-proficiency.
Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition
Samsung N150 comes pre-installed with the simpler and easier Microsoft Windows 7 which is brilliantly handled by the Intel Atom processor. When it comes to operating system, you can’t go simpler than Starter version. This version is most suited to Samsung N150 because it works extremely well on compact and small sized laptops. With fewer clicks, less waiting and hassle free connectivity, Windows 7 Starter makes Samsung N150 highly responsive and reliable when it comes to compatibility with other softwares.
10.1” Wide LCD Display
The screen of Samsung N150 is just 10.1” which is a perfect size for an energy-efficient netbook. Unlike the other Samsung models, Samsung N150 doesn’t have a glossy display rather it has an anti-reflective display which minimises the irritating reflections while working outdoors. Being an LED screen, it consumes less battery juice and the 1024 x 600 display resolution provides perfect picture quality and images. All graphics tasks are elegantly handled by the integrated Intel GMA3150 graphics chipset. Though it is not a gaming machine but still you can play ordinary games without any problems.
Dimension and Battery Life
The most impressive highlights of the Samsung N150 are the battery life and its sleek design. Just picture youself owning a sophisticated White colour netbook weighing just 1.24kg which can easily slip into your handbag. You can spend all day working outdoors and keeping in touch with your contacts, or work in your office from 9 to 5 as the battery lasts up to 9 hours before another charge. This netbook is expected to give a very tough time to the rival Acer Aspire Timeline Series which is gaining popularity for being highly mobile and battery efficient.
Connectivity
Equipped with the latest of wireless N technology and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and the wired Ethernet 10/00 are standard on the Samsung N150. Integrated web camera and integrated microphone make for easy access of online video conversations. Physical connections include 3 USB 2.0 Ports, VGA video output and 3-in1 card reader for SD, SDHC and MMC cards.
The Bottom Line
Samsung N150 has been innovated to change your perception of an average netbooks mobility. Equipped with an energy-efficient processor, Samsung N150 is a perfect companion for on the go.

Lives up to expectations of a Samsung product BUT the battery life is nowhere near the 8.5 – 9 hours mentioned in the spec. This may be down to either a faulty battery or a power supply that is not working efficiently. I never get 100% power noted on the battery monitor and at 97% it shows only 5hrs and 15 mins. which is a shortfall of some 38% BIG disappointment. Will need to see about getting a replacement battery
Andrew: Sorry to hear about the battery problems you are having, did you speak to the suppliers? On a side note: Usually the stated battery life is achievable with some optimised settings, try reducing the screen brightness slightly, also shut all unnecessary applications you aren’t using, as software running in the background also tend to drain battery power.
