Nokia 6212 Classic – Nokia Launches NFC Technology in 6212

The new Nokia 6212 is a 3G mobile phone with a distinct NFC technology which is quite rare at present amongst mobile phone manufacturers. The Nokia 6212 uses NFC ( Near Field Communication ) technology which is used for personal information exchange within a short distance of 10 centimeters or so.

The technology is aimed to be used at various security check points such as train stations, airports and may be while shopping where the users of this phone can simply tap their NFC mobile phone on another NFC device to exchange personal information.

The 6212 is bar phone at 88 grams, 3G phone with quad-band GSM, EDGE, and 3G support (WCDMA 850 / 2100) and offers video calling, video capture, an FM radio whereas the 6500 does not. The display is a 2″ 240 x 320 pixel screen has 16 million colours, it also has a 2 megapixel camera with flash without autofocus, Bluetooth and microSD expandable memory (up to 4GB). Talktime is 2.75 hours on 3G with a 12 days standby time.
