These two machines are beautiful, The compaq is definately the one to go for. If someone had said to me 6 months ago, that the compaq badge will be on the hottest looking laptop, i’d have laughed in their face.
Interesting reviews on exciting products – but I can’t believe the weight of the Compaq to be 2.45 Kg!! This would make it completely uncompetitive surely.

A high end mobile broadband connection is advisable if you require extensive internet usage. I bought this laptop 2 months ago with a high end deal from 3 Mobile and not a single quirk or limitation so far. The laptop design is great and the cost has been reasonable for me as I do travel alot and needed something smaller and attractive to carry around.
I’m not sure I’d describe 60 GB hard disk as huge (considering the competition, it’s anything but at almost 1/3 of standard 160 GB, and battery life is the huge drawback on this machine. Nevertheless, I’m sorely tempted to get it anyway on the sheer strength of its keyboard alone…
I agree to what you say Chris but HP 700 mini has been around for quite a while and hard disk capacity threshold has gone up since then.
