Dell Inspiron 1564

Written by Lee

Dell Inspiron 1564 notebook is a fresh addition to Dell’s famous Inspiron family that provides all the style and power required by both corporate and home users. Dell Inspiron 1564 is a great multi-purpose and highly mobile laptop which is receiving a great recognition from buyers who demand a feature rich machine without spending too much.

Processor Performance

Another progressive change occuring at the very zenith of the UK notebook market is the fact that more and more laptops are being introduced with all sorts of newly introduced processors. Intel had introduced its Core i3-330M processor in 2010 in an attempt to safeguard its strong hold in the market. Outstanding performance on the processing area is coupled with Intel Core i3-330M processor and a massive 4GB DDR3 RAM which is hard to match for Dell’s rival brands. Another impressive highlight is the Hyper-Threading technology which delivers an improved performance whilst dealing with multithreaded softwares and resource intensive applications. This machine also benefits from the superior features introduced by Microsoft in Windows 7.

Massive Hard Disk Capacity

Information is the real asset in today’s world making your survival totally dependent on the secrecy and protection of valuable data. The old ways of burning data on CDs and DVDs have become quite troublesome and obsolete compared the handy options available today. To provide a cost- efficient and reliable solution for all your storage needs, Dell Inspiron 1564 features a massive 500GB hard disk which provides a mighty storage capacity which lets you store tons of documents, downloads, movies and pictures conveniently on the Dell 1564 Laptop.

Display Screen and Dimension

Dell Inspiron 1564 has a standard 15.6” widescreen display with a spotless 16:9 aspect ratio, which is best for watching HD movies or playing games. With a pair of reasonable speakers and the hottest optical drive, you can enjoy optimised HD content with decent visual and sound reproduction. Despite weighing a mere 2.7 Kg the Dell Inspiron 1564 carries enormous features including an integrated ATI Radeon HD 4330 graphics chipset and Webcam for face-to-face communication.

Connectivity and Battery Life

When it comes to connectivity, Dell Inspiron 1546 does a great job. For connectivity on the go, you can use built in Wi-Fi technology and for smooth data sharing 5 in 1 digital media card reader is also available. A fully charged Dell 1546 can let you work up to 3hrs, however, if you are a frequent traveler then keeping a back up battery would be a handy option.

The Bottom Line

With a top-of-the line Intel Core i3 processor and a super fast 500GB hard disk, Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop is setting new standards in mobile computing.

I had a Dell 1545 T4300 and it was awesome, I wish i had waited a little more to get this new laptop model, I just got mine last month. This is a great durable laptop, its not as big as it seems in the pics and very sleek and stylish design quality. The processor in mine is the T4300 but this new i3 processor seems impressive too. Highly recommended if you are looking for a long lasting reliable laptop.

I have just received my 1564 direct from dell and it looks great unfortunately your review is not exactly accurate. The basic package comes with only 3 Gb memory and a 250Gb harddrive, it takes about a £100 of extras to get the above spec, Also I ordered a 320Gb harddrive and when it arrived 59Gb is in a drive partrion C (40Gb used for OS & Office), 230Gb in a partion D and 31 Gb missing. I cvan only assume the missing memory is in a hidden partion for recovery purposes. Maybe dell can explain without you having to phone their pay for helpline?

The review above is 100% accurate and inline with the deals shown underneath the review. Major retailers are supplying the laptop with the specs mentioned in the review. Secondly buying a laptop from Dell is entirely a different story copmared to common retailers like Dixons, Currys or PC World, as Dell allows you to custom built your system, so you cant blame the specs mentioned in the review. Sorry to hear about the missing space on your Hard drive however I have noticed some data is also lost while making partitions depending on the FAT or NTFS system if not done correctly. There could also be some space taken up by the temp files or virtual Windows memory. Best to call up Dell and ask for advice if you still cant reconcile the space and not happy with your laptop.

Do you know if I can buy this in the cherry red colour shown in the pic? All the ones on Currys Dixons etc above are just the black. Thanks

Angie: I have looked through the sites and you are right that no one seems to offer it in red, you could try Dells official site here http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspiron-1564?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19

Angie: as you no doubt have found out by now Nick’s link takes you to Dell’s USA site, but two weeks ago this version of the 1564 wasn’t available on the UK site, you could only buy it over the phone, They offered it in blue, pink & purple (not red) and only in the basic spec I mentioned for an extra £60. If you wanted a higher spec it only came in black, why the internals restrict the external cover colour Dell couldn’t answer, If you want this laptop I would hold off until Dell offer it in all the options as they don’t even support it on their UK support website at present. Don’t get me wrong it is a great looking laptop, even in blabk, compared to other laptops at the same price and it does have a higher spec. p,s, Dell confirmed what I had assumed regards the hard drive.

I have just ordered a Inspiron 1564 from the dell website on 25/3/10. The model I ordered is the core i5 2.26 GHz 250GB high def 15”. I need it for work as im doing an IT apprenticeship. I chose it because dell seem to be quite reliable (IF LOOKED AFTER) and I use a dell desktop XP from 2002 which is still going on 256MB of RAM. The laptops seem decent although my sisters has just broke down, hopefully I think my boss should be able to fix it though. I chose this model because I wanted fast start up time and a powerfull processer for browsing internet/ working on documents. I’m not that bothered about graphics card (I have a ps3 so wont be using it for games) or memory (dont really need heaps of storage for videos/games/music ect). Also although I despise Vista (I know windows 7 is similar like 2000 and XP) I am hoping I will like using windows 7. I think dell are decent enough for the price and hopefully I will get 5 good years out of this thing (if not 10 lol).

This laptop is a great impressive Intel i3 machine. I was in two minds when I saw this but I really wanted to get an HP, I went ahead and bought the HP G62 http://www.dealgiant.co.uk/hp-g62-107sa-laptop-review-specs-deals/ , pretty satisfied with my laptop.
