I bought this laptop a few days ago off the Dell website for $499.99. I think we got lucky since ours had a 1.3 mp webcam and bluetooth for free. I checked the next day after purchasing it, and those free options were gone, (you have to pay extra $$ for those features) and the price went up to $560. Wow! I feel so grateful. I am excited about this laptop, it looks very attractive, and has great features. I can manage the glossiness, I’ll just get a soft cloth and wipe it often! :D I can’t wait til it comes in the mail. I think the only thing I’m worried about is the weight, its close to 6 lbs I think, and I am a frequent traveler. Oh well, its worth it I guess, since I also go to the gym. I’ll get physically fit. :)

The best thing about this laptop is the excellent design which is so unlike the usual Dell laptops, I think this laptop is truly the most refined laptop offer from Dell. Despite the fact that this laptop falls in to the category of budget laptops Dell had done a remarkable job with the excellent high performance features and attractive design build.

My brother bought this laptop in the UK for my present. I love it so much! Its stylish and love it’s great features. Talk about hard disk memory: its more than I need so I am free to add any program. Battery life is just good for me considering the frequent power load shading we go through here in Malawi. Forgot to tell you about the in-built webcam. I must confess that I didn’t know about it untill my American colleague enviously pointed out about it. her own own laptop does not have one. I am happy to have the world closer to me now courtesy of my brother. And Dell 1545 too!

I bought this laptop yesterday. Excellant features. The Ruby red color is awesome. With 4GB RAM, Core 2 Duo Processor and 320 GB harddisk it is really great. Great Laptop for scientific computing. However, webcam should have been 2MP instead of 1.3MP

Fantastic machine this! I have the 3GB RAM 160GB HD version and it’s very fast and looks great. Seems to do the trick with big programs such as sketchup, photoshop, prism etc, great at running a number of things at the same time. I had one of the old inspirons and this one’s a little lighter so easier to move around. Draw backs are that generally bluetooth isn’t standard, the web-cam isn’t great (no disaster) but the main one is having no input/output jacks of any type on the back (this is purely a personal preference) as they’re all on the side + no S video or HDMI cable on mine.

This machine is currently the most popular choice amongst the budget all rounders, do check the new variant from Dell http://www.dealgiant.co.uk/dell-inspiron-1545-t4300-laptop-review-windows-7-laptop-deals-specs/ with Windows 7

i have a dell inspiron 1545 laptop, Is this not sufficient graphics for playing games. i play all graphical games but its does not support, what can i do?

You did not mention the processor spec of your laptop? if its the Core 2 variant then the T4200 and T4300 are good enough for most games except the extreme 3D games that might demand a lot of system resources. Also it depends how many applications you have added to your startup that might be consuming a lot of system resources.
