Dell Inspiron 1318 Laptop Review

The Dell Inspiron 1318 is an extremely sleek, functional and portable laptop. Integrated with a reasonably sized keyboard and screen, and this laptop has a remarkable build and attractive design. It comes in an attractive combination of gloss and matt black textures with a dark-blue glossy lid, making it a very good-looking budget laptop.
The Inspiron 1318 has a 318 x 238 x 40mm frame, and being in tandem with its 2.2kg weight it is still extremely light and portable. Battery life of this notebook is one of its strongest points; it can go on for up to four-and-a-half hours under regular usage. Stylish design, great build quality and the cheap pricing, all these features make this notebook a must buy.
Design
The design of Dell Inspiron 1318 really sets it apart from the older Inspiron notebooks. Its sloping design and glossy blue lid makes it stand out from the crowd. The screen hinges have a rounded black plastic design with metal core, providing it a distinguishing look. The black coloured keyboard and textured black plastic palm rests looks nice and is very comfortable.
The Inspiron 1318 has a wide-screen display, which is glossy and as a result it is natural to have some reflection on the screen. However, the rich and bold colours which is a strong characteristic of this screen, makes it worthwhile.
Processor
The Dell Inspiron 1318 comes equipped with an Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2390 processor that runs at 1.86GHz and is accompanied by 2GBs of DDR2 RAM.
The Inspiron 1318 is integrated with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, for maximum usability. It also comes with an Intel GMA 3100 integrated graphics, that can manage Windows Vista and games easily.
Storage and Space
Dell Inspiron 1318 comes equipped with a 160 GB hard drive, which allows you to store extensive range of Word, Excel and other downloaded media and not to mention a few other programs and MP3/AVI files to boot. The 160 GB SATA HDD runs at 5,400 rpm and can be upgraded to a 7,200-rpm to boost access speeds. It also has 2 GB of DDR2 RAM for faster performance.
Connectivity Features
The Dell Inspiron provides the users with 802.11a/b/g/n wireless radio and wired 10/100 Ethernet port, two USB 2.0, mini-FireWire. An ExpressCard slot allows linking to external peripherals with ease. Moreover, it is also has a webcam with an integrated microphone for video conferencing. The laptop also has a memory card reader that accepts SD/SDHC/MMC, Memory Stick and xD-Picture Card formats.
