Compaq Presario CQ61-415sa is yet another decent arrival designed for to appeal a wider audience. The bundle of practical functionality and connectivity features are capable of satisfying your on-the-go business needs. Be noted that affordability doesn’t mean any sort of compromise and Compaq knows it very well. Compaq Presario CQ61-415 guarantees a great time all around with plenty of powerful features and stylish looks.

AMD Sempron and Windows 7

Compaq Presario CQ61-415sa is powered by the AMD Sempron processor which is fully featured to improve your productivity and deliver optimised computing results. The AMD Sempron device has been developed on the renowned Hyper Transport Technology and in numbers that’s about 2.1GHz clock speed to give you a clear idea of the power it can produce. The overall performance is boosted by a 2GB RAM, which is another good support when it comes to multitasking or running multiple applications. Operating system is the pre-Installed Windows 7 which is the current top seller of Windows solutions from Microsoft. Packed with rich multimedia and graphics features, Windows 7 makes your notebook an ideal companion for productivity and entertainment.

15.6” Widescreen LCD Display

A full size corner to corner 15.6” Wide Brightview LCD display feels quite big on Compaq Presario CQ61-415sa and would certainly cast its spell when you open the lid. With the screen resolution of 1366 x 768 dpi and 16:9 aspect-ratio, you can watch your favourite movies, photo albums, live videos and much more.

Design, Dimension and Battery Life

The glossy black finish gives an eye-catchy look and the superior build quality is the best on this notebook. The text input keyboard and dedicated numeric keypad gives the feel of a full sized QWERTY keyboard. With an overall weight of 2.68 Kg, Compaq Presario CQ61-415sa can be a good mobile solution for day to day tasks and no doubt that its build quality and design won’t get unnoticed. Its silken touchpad is also found on their more expensive cousins of HP Pavilion notebooks. The Compaq Presario CQ61-415sa battery can run for up to 6 hours on a single charge and that is simply outstanding. We usually don’t see many of the 15.6” notebooks offering 6 hours of battery as larger display screens drain the battery juice like anything. But Compaq has showed its expertise and we are sure that such an enormous backup would give you long runs while on the move.

The Bottom Line

Compaq Presario CQ61-415sa is a solid performer, offering a lot of processing power besides its attractive price tag which compels you to pick one without any second thought. This laptop is perfect for buyers who look for large screen machines with long lasting batteries.

Hi , I just purchased a Compaq Presario QC61-415SA having read your review , particularly with regard to
“potential” 6 hour battery life performance . Have now recharged the battery on 3 occassions achieving a maximum 3 hours . Only used for web surfing . Does the battery take several charges to reach optimum ? could it be a faulty battery ? Is 6 hours over optimistic ? to be fair other reviewers have also referred to 6 hours battery life. would really appreciate your thoughts .
    Many Thanks

You should definitely get more than 3 hours, at least 4 or 5, but If you are watching videos or playing games then the battery will drain pretty fast.

Its a really good laptop, good graphics and ram and a unbelieveable price but i suggest paying £50 more and getting the 2.2ghz dual core version which can do 1080p. Another problem is windows 7 but i got rid of that pretty quickly

Very pleased with this new laptop except for the fact that it advertised a 6 hour battery life. I’m only achieving in the region of 3 hours. Apart from that…no problems.

Ian: That is an optimum level of output you can expect, but offcourse the laptop battery will drain quickly if you extensively use bluetooth, WIFI or perform any other resource intensive tasks on it. Still 3 hours is quite a difference, try refreshing windows or have less softwares running in your system tray, close down all additional applications running in the background, we hope it should add an hour or two.
