Asus is eminently remembered for practically creating the Netbook trend with its line of cheap Eee PCs. Their new product, Asus 1101HA has an 11.6-inch high resolution screen, curved panel and impressive design.
Asus has delivered a complete package with easy portability in the Eee PC 1101HA. It also features a superb battery life and a stylish design, which is remarkable for a budget netbook.
Design
Asus 1101HA is a scaled-up version of the 1005HA. The 1101HA comes in slim, attractive design, complimented by a 11.6- inch high-resolution 1,366×768 screen. This budget laptop has curved panels and a sharp look. Its glossy lid looks striking in black colours and comes covered in a scratch-resistant Infusion Finish.
Asus 1101HA has a sharp front lid along with a placid slope to the system, making it slightly thicker at the rear. However, there is still enough space for standard VGA and Ethernet jacks on the sides. The slim design and proficient use of space makes the 1101 a class apart as it does not feel much bulkier than a 10-inch Netbook, making it a great buy.
Performance
The Asus 1101HA is configured with the 1.33-GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP. This thrifty little chip consumes less power than the other netbook processors of choice, specifically the Atom N270. The 1101HA also has a removable battery.
Asus 1101HA comes equipped with Super Hybrid Engine power software that permits you to overclock the Atom Z520 CPU, giving it a superior performance. In Power Saving mode, the clock speed comes down to 1 GHz, while in Super Performance mode, it is increased to 1.73 GHz. The High Performance mode keeps the clock speed delivering a stable rate of 1.33 GHz.
Storage and Space
Asus 1101HA is provided with a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, plus 10GB Eee Online Storage and a multicard reader; which is quite sufficient to perform all office tasks easily, storing the files and surfing the web with a superb speed.
The Intel GMA 500 integrated graphics chip with 253MB of shared memory makes working on this netbook a complete delight.
Connectivity Features
With Asus 1101HA, you get three USB 2.0 ports, a 4-in-1 media card reader, headphone and microphone jacks, Ethernet port, and a standard VGA out port.
The 1101HA provides a reasonable standard set of ports and connections, including 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Thus, it offer much more than what you can expect from a cheap laptop deal.
