Laptop not worth the money driver and bad build quality poor dvd reading problems a bad low price laptop

Jamie: For sure, you cant compare it to the design finish of high end Dual Core laptops, secondly DVD drives are sensitive and if you have used old scratched DVDs then chances are that you have caused some physical damage to the drive. We still think its a good bargain for a Dual Core machine.

Anyone else having the same problems with DVD?

@claire they removed web cams showing up in my computer back in vista but that doesn’t mean you can’t take photos with it.

Had my Advent for 8 months, waste of money, keeps shutting down and getting blue screen error, dvd drive awful, when making a cd the music jumps, would not recommend! Mouse click is not quiet, would deffo go back to using an HP. Battery life is awful. Took out the Tech Guys insurance absolute rubbsh they have not agreed to repair they just do stuff over the telephone, waste of money!

I bought this laptop because it was a reasonable price and it is my first laptop,, I’m happy with it apart from the fact that the battery life is terrible.. mine is 40 minutes on a good day,,, and you can’t just put the webcam on to take photos,, you have to have an application running to use it.

Do not buy this laptop. It comes with no webcam software, my Hard Drive has been replaced 3 times due to them being faulty and a new motherboard because that was faulty.

It has been written off and i’m getting my money back from the TechGuys support.

Bought this laptop for 369 pounds . If you don’t play games, it’s a very good choice. I recommend for office use/film watching/data processing/internet surfing. However, if you like to have a break playing some nowadays not demanding games, look somewhere else – graphic card is really really bad. I can hardly play retired Quake 3 Arena. Some games like Neverwinter Nights look tragic while played on this laptop.

I have this laptop which is quite good but battery is not, However to make this great Simply change the CPU, changed mine to a T8300 dual core for a matter of £40 ebay. can get lower speck dual core cpu’s for around £25. What this will achieve is faster programs, faster dvd writing, almost by 3X, everything just faster, also 50% more battery life as the cpu is not running 100% like single core, remember most programs these days are designed for dual core minimum. Just think evan mobile phones and tablets these days are going dual core.
